Wayne Morphew. Strange name. Good tunes.
Wayne is a singer/songwriter/musician from beautiful Chicopee, MA.
He is the creator and frontman of the successful rock band Drunk in July (winner of the Valley Advocate's Grand Band Slam in the Roots/ Rock catagory). He has played well over 1100 shows at many clubs, bars, schools, barns, campfires, and high profile venues in all of New England and New York. This list includes Best Buy in-store performances around the Northeast, Mohegan Sun Casino in CT, the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton MA, Arlene's Grocery, The Luna Lounge, the C Note & Kenny's Castaways in NYC, TT the Bears in Boston, The Webster Theater in Hartford, CT, and the list goes on and on.
After releasing 2 independent albums and building quite a reputation as one of the hardest working bands in the Northeast, the band took an indefinate break which triggered Wayne to pursue a solo career, where he now performs with his acoustic, harmonica, and tabourine. He also had released his first solo CD in 2006.
This EP album, entitled "6 stories", includes lots of hooks and rock rhythms.
The music (aside from a few guest parts) was composed, performed, produced and written by Wayne.
In addition to performing live shows three times a week, Wayne also hosts a weekly open mic night. His performances will range from nights of all request cover songs for parties, weddings, and bars, to all original acoustic solo shows, as well as full band performances. He also works regularly in an acoustic duo called "Half Lit" with his guitar partner Matt Wagner.
At shows, Wayne has a list of over 100 songs from all rock n roll genres in which customers and fans can request or dedicate throughout the show. This list of songs, as well as photos, news, Wayne’s show calendar, and much more can be found at www.myspace.com/waynemorphew.
Please share the music, and spread the word grass roots style.
